In Joyful Celebration Victor Luo

Today, Oceanic guns and artillery cheered with gunfire as Eastasian forces were repelled from the Eastern front. Such an attack had been anticipated by the ever-intelligent, ever-competent, and ever-vigilant Big Brother for many weeks, and as Eastasia began to reveal its hand, the burgeoning war machine of Oceania had moved swiftly to prepare a stout defense.

As Eastasian faces began to reveal themselves on the battlefield, our troops quickly and skillfully mobilized, using the forested terrain as their guide and guard.

Under the remote guidance of Big Brother, our troopers skillfully outmaneuvered the enemy, drawing them into a glorious pincer movement that saw all fifty-hundred-thousand Eastasian thugs committed to the earth.

Comrades, as we celebrate this hard-fought and hard-won victory, let us remember the blood and sweat of the troopers that made this happen. Let us remember also that this victory was not achieved by the effort of our soldiers alone. It was also achieved through the dutiful work of all of us, back at home. Because of your toil, no Oceanic soldier need die today.

Remember—we are all in this together.

May we always have the strength and will to give to Oceania as much as these heroes have today. May we always carry with us the same love for Oceania that those heroes carried into battle today.

Long live Oceania!
Long live Big Brother!
